The Greater Wausau Region offers a variety of microbreweries (and a distillery)
The Greater Wausau Region has a long history of housing a variety of breweries. The area now offers several microbreweries to choose from, each with it's own unique setting and flavor set.
Bull Falls Brewery, Wausau: An Oktoberfest Lager was the first brew for this business which opened in 2007. Tours are frequently available and the taproom is open several nights each week.
The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company, Wausau: With an original location in Madison, this business on Wausau's west side is conveniently located along the highway. This location offers a 75-seat private event space and 300-seat banquet hall for weddings, anniversaries and corporate functions.
Mosinee Brewing Company, Mosinee: This brewery and taproom is a new, major attraction for visitors to central Wisconsin. This comfortably sophisticated venue includes event space for meetings, parties and entertainment. In house brews are tapped alongside non-alcoholic options including kombucha and locally brewed nitro coffee.
Red Eye Brewing Company, Wausau: This brewery and restaurant on Wausau's east side offers craft beers and artisan food, built around a cycling theme. This business features world class beers created by our award-winning brewer, Kevin Eichelberger.
Sawmill Brewing Company, Merrill: After an extensive two-year renovation by local artists and crafts people, Merrill’s 1940’s DNR Headquarters was transformed into a community gathering place. With lounge areas, outdoor open space and an historic conference room, the Sawmill is a popular hang-out in Merrill.
The region also offers a new distillery in the heart of Wausau.
Timekeeper's Distillery, Wausau: Housed in the iconic Milwaukee Road Train Station on Wausau's east side, this business offers craft cocktails, live music and tours.
